The A802D2W controller replicates the natural behaviour of traditional light sources through its ‘Dim to Warm’ function – as the light is dimmed, the colour temperature shifts from cool white towards warm white, following a logarithmic dimming curve that mimics the way the human eye perceives changes in brightness. As a result, transitions in brightness and colour are smooth and natural, without any abrupt perceptual changes.
The controller is operated using one of two types of sensor connected via an FPC cable: a touch sensor or a proximity sensor, which operates within a range of 0–10 cm from the user’s hand. A brief touch or gesture in both variants switches the light on and off, whilst maintaining contact or keeping your hand within the proximity sensor’s range allows for continuous adjustment of brightness and colour. The choice between a touch sensor and a proximity sensor depends on the design of the fitting and your preferred method of interaction – a touch sensor requires physical contact with the sensor surface, whilst a proximity sensor operates without contact within a defined range.
The controller is equipped with a memory function that automatically restores the last selected brightness and colour settings when the power is switched back on.
A dedicated Eh (Earth) terminal safely diverts leakage currents, eliminating the unwanted ‘glow’ effect of the LED module when switched off – a common problem in installations with long cables or certain types of LED modules.
The controller operates as a regulated DC power source, ensuring a stable power supply to the LED modules and delivering flicker-free and noise-free operation across the entire dimming range.
It is available in five standard current variants (180, 240, 350, 500 and 700 mA) and in a version with a current defined individually by the customer, which allows the driver to be tailored to a specific LED module and its current requirements.
Mounting on a metal plate or other component with high thermal conductivity is recommended to improve the dissipation of heat generated during operation, particularly where there is a significant difference between the input and output voltages.
