Description of implementation

The main design challenge for very slim linear luminaires (Slim type) is finding space for the power supply. Traditional solutions require the use of external boxes or thickening the luminaire profile, which conflicts with modern, minimalist design.

SlimLED’s vision was to create an extremely low-profile luminaire that retains its aesthetic lightness. ALSC engineers proposed the use of a standard linear module, which was precisely adapted to the dimensions and mechanical specifications of the customer’s housing.

The key to success was to transfer the entire power supply system to a PCB (Driver on Board), which allowed for a radical reduction in the size of the luminaire.

Replaceable light source (Plug and Play)

Thanks to DOB technology, the module is an autonomous lighting element. If servicing is required, the user can replace the entire component in a plug-and-play system, which is a unique advantage in this class of linear luminaires.

Miniaturisation of the luminaire

The absence of an external controller has enabled the design of one of the slimmest enclosures on the market, increasing the product's appeal to architects and designers.

Safety and durability

The modules feature reinforced insulation and surge protection (1.5 kV), which guarantees stable operation in commercial and domestic installations.

Speed of assembly

Simplifying the design to a single module powered directly from the mains significantly reduces the time needed to assemble the finished lamp at the production plant.

Light quality and technical parameters

Despite their linear design, ALSC modules provide high luminous efficacy of up to 157 lm/W. A key technological feature is Zero Flicker (SVM=0) technology, which eliminates eye strain, a common problem with cheaper 230V solutions. Thanks to their wide light distribution angle (120°), SlimLED luminaires generate soft, uniform light, ideal for under-cabinet, office or decorative lighting.

Control and assembly

The modules have been designed for maximum ease of installation. Connection terminals allow for quick and secure connection of 230V AC mains cables directly to the module. The ‘Driver on Board’ system not only saves space, but also eliminates the risk of failure of external connection components, creating an integrated and reliable light source.
