230V AC LED technology in the service of craftsmanship, i.e. a project for Stolarnia Pika S.C.

The cooperation between ALSC and Stolarni Pika is an example of a perfect combination of modern electronic engineering and natural raw material, which is wood. Thanks to the use of a standard high-performance circular module, it was possible to create a product combining rustic aesthetics with the highest lighting parameters.

Description of implementation

The main challenge in designing lighting fixtures mounted directly in wood is limited space and the need to ensure thermal safety.

The manufacturer of the LEJA luminaire was looking for a solution that would eliminate the need for external, bulky power supplies, which are difficult to hide aesthetically in a wooden casing.

The vision for the project was to create a ceiling light that, despite its solid oak form, would be slim and easy to install.

ALSC responded to this need with 230V AC technology, where all the control electronics are integrated on a single board with LEDs.

Customer benefits

Replaceable light source (Plug and Play)

Thanks to its Driver on Board (DOB) architecture, the module is a complete light source powered directly from the mains. This allows for easy replacement of the component in a plug-and-play system, which significantly simplifies servicing and extends the life cycle of the entire luminaire.

Space saving

The absence of an external power supply has minimised the depth of milling in wood.

Comfort of use (Zero Flicker):

Thanks to advanced control, the module eliminates flickering (SVM = 0), which is crucial for eye health in domestic environments.

Durability and reliability

Polish production and high durability (L80B10 at 60,000 hours) guarantee that the luminaire will serve for years without losing light quality.

Safety

The use of reinforced insulation and 1.5 kV surge protection ensure stable operation in domestic installations.

Light quality and technical parameters

In LEJA luminaires, uniform illumination of the diffuser is key. The J280 module, with a diameter of nearly 270 mm, perfectly fills the interior of the fi375 ceiling, eliminating dark spots. High efficiency (157 lm/W) means that with a power consumption of only 24W, the user receives a light output equivalent to traditional, energy-intensive sources. In addition, the wide 120° beam angle ensures optimal light distribution in living rooms and kitchens.

Control and assembly

The module is designed for direct 230V AC mains power supply. This simplifies the production process in the joinery workshop, and installation is limited to connecting the wires to the mounting terminals, which speeds up the final assembly of the luminaire. The ‘Driver on board’ system makes the luminaire a ready-to-use, integrated lighting solution that requires no additional electronic components other than the housing itself.

What did we use for assembly?
